You may have seen some infomercials on TV about a new system for shoe storage for under the bed. It’s really quite a smart idea as the space underneath your bed is usually far underused in terms of storage.
What are they?
If you use shoe storage boxes and place them under your bed, I bet you are sick of crawling under there to get to the ones that get pushed to the back. Under the bed shoe storage cases are shaped like a suitcase with a handle at one end to pull it out. Usually they hold about 12 pairs of shoes (not boots or stilettos) in 12 separate compartments. A clear plastic cover zips up over the top so that you can see what shoes are inside if you have multiple cases.
The reaction in these was initially very positive. The price was right and as I’ve mentioned the product seemed amazing. However as people began to by them they found that the shoe dividers and bottom were made of very flimsy material. When you pulled the unit out from under the bed the shoes all bunched up together and were then very difficult to put back under. If only they had made the product stiffer, it would have been a great storage unit.
Where can I get them?
Amazon.com currently sell the original product and ship to the USA. However I don’t recommend these as they were a bit cheap and nasty with thin fabric.
I recommend instead these all clear vinyl underbed shoe storage units that are also available on Amazon and ship worldwide.
Over all though, if you can store your shoes in a rolling underbed shoe storage unit, in your cupboard in a canvas hanging shoe bag or plastic storage box, I recommend these methods over any other.
